    Hi Geraldo,
Once I get my presets exported, I’ll post them here for everybody.

Decided to keep the HD500 I bought to try out after listening to you. Beautiful parts, great playing, inspiring …. And really cool to be able watch your hands on the videos. Thanks! I’m a big user of Pod Farm, it’s the only thing on par with the HD500, wish it had the Matchless D30 model that’s in Farm. I also use Eleven, (just the plug-in) which is quite nice… Did you post your patches for the HD500. Factory sounds don’t do it justice. Thanks again for the great playing !

    Eric,
I’ve owned the Eleven Rack for a short while and thought it was a really cool piece of gear. One or two of the guitar tracks on the title track to my CD (“Strong”) were recorded with the 11R. It’s cool. And now with HD500, POD Farm, 11 Plug in and 11R, there are so many great options for getting guitar tone in less conventional ways. And I’m totally with you on the Matchless. I was a Vetta user for years and in my dual tones it was ALWAYS “Matchless + something else”. That was my secret recipe!

I haven’t posted my tones just yet. I probably should here in the next few days. Part of me is embarrassed. There are some guys who really finesse their tones and come up with some really creative sounds. I look more like a skinny monster leaning over the POD HD and flipping knobs with my paws- just trying to find sounds that mask my flaws. haha

just out of curiosity, how are you running the podhd500 into the dt50??? full amps/studio direct, or preamps/combopower/ using the l6 link????

  • el jefe de la cucina April 5, 2011, 5:27 pm

I normally run the POD HD in via Line 6 Link. I actually prefer to just use the preamp models and get the power amp goodness from the DT50. As for the output settings, mine always wants to switch back to combo poweramp but I have dialed in some of my favorite sounds using the studio/direct setting. It’s quite a bit darker when the amp is at low volumes, but once you turn the master volume of the amp up past 12 or 1 o’clock, a lot of that top end comes right back. I’ve recently dialed in a couple of clean Fendery sounds using the Combo poweramp output setting but they don’t sound as warm to at gig volumes.

I just got a line 6 HD 400 and would love to have the presets you used on this video.
If you are still available to send, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Hi Gary,
Unfortunately, I didn’t save my HD400 settings before moving to the HD500. But I almost always used the JCM800 model and rolled the drive back for the cleanish version. Also, I set the volume pedal up so that the heel-down position was at 80% volume and the toe-down was at 100%. That allowed me to use the volume pedal as a variable solo boost.

    Best of luck!
